Welcome to Ugocarrental! By making a booking on our website, mobile application, or any other platform, you acknowledge your acceptance of these T&Cs. We have put in much effort to make these fair, clear, and easy to read.
1. The Rental Agreement These T&Cs, along with the details of your confirmed booking (rate, car class, dates), shall constitute the full Rental Agreement between you (the "Renter" or "Driver") and ugocarrental (the "Company").
1.1. Driver Requirements Minimum Age - The main driver and any additional authorized drivers must be at least 21 years old. Any drivers between the ages of 21-24 could be subject to a young driver surcharge. Valid Documentation: All drivers must present a valid, non-expired driving license held for at least one year and a valid credit or debit card in their own name. Additional documentation may be required for foreign licenses, such as an international driving permit.
2. Use of Vehicle and Responsibilities
2.1. Permitted Use The rental vehicle may only be driven by the Renter and any additional drivers that are listed on the Rental Agreement. It is only for normal road use, and it shall not, under any circumstances, be used for: Being utilized in any unlawful activity. Towing, pushing, or operating loaded beyond the manufacturer's capacity. Driving on unpaved or excessively rough roads unless the vehicle is a 4x4 designated for such terrain.
2.2. Vehicle Condition You must return the vehicle in the same condition as when you picked it up, accounting for normal wear and tear. You are responsible for any damage, loss, or theft that occurs during the rental period, subject to any protection package you may have purchased.
2.3. Fuel Policy Vehicles are generally provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned full. If the vehicle is returned with less than a full tank, a refueling service charge will be applied, plus the cost of the missing fuel at the local market rate.
3. Payment, Deposits, and Charges
3.1. Rental Charges The confirmed total rental charge includes the daily rate, mandatory fees, and any selected optional extras. These charges are payable in full at the time of booking or at the time of vehicle pick-up, according to your reservation.
3.2. Security Deposit A refundable security deposit will be authorized on your credit or debit card at the time of pick-up. This deposit covers potential incidentals, late return fees, or damage. The hold will be released after the vehicle is returned undamaged and all final charges are settled. The time for the refund to reflect in your account is determined by your bank.
3.3. Additional Charges May Include: Late fees: hourly, daily if it's over the grace period. Cleaning charges (in instances of excessive dirt, stains, or smoking in the vehicle). Traffic, parking, or toll fines, plus an administrative fee to process them.
4. Cancellations and Amendments
4.1. Cancellation Policy Cancellations made 48 hours or more prior to the scheduled pick-up time will get a full refund, less a small administration fee. Any cancellations made less than 48 hours before pick-up may be subject to a charge equivalent to one day's rental. No-Shows: Failure to pick up the reserved vehicle without prior cancellation entails the loss of any prepayment amount.
4.2. Extending Your Rental If you want to extend the rental period, you must inform ugocarrental in advance by telephone or email and prior to your original drop-off time. Extensions are subject to availability and at the current daily rate.
5. Insurance and Protection The rental rate includes, unless otherwise indicated, basic third-party liability coverage in compliance with the minimum required by local law. We strongly recommend that you review and purchase our optional protection packages to limit your financial responsibility in the event of damage or theft. All protection options are subject to a deductible.
